Did anyone ever notice that when they mention poker to someone outside the poker community they get a weird look or a bad vibe. People outside of the poker arena assume that we are all just degenerate gamblers and have zero skill. I tried explaining it to my friends and family but most of them just assume its a dopey hobby and assume every gambler is a loser. Its come to the point that if i have a good day at the tables or i cash nicely in a tournament i dont even tell ppl anymore, because ive heard "well if you won that much today , i can imagine how much you lost in the past. I basically keep my mouth shut about my poker.
I came across this post on a blog i just subscribed to, The Grind , and he seems to feel the same way i do, I guess we Grinders think alike
( my blog and the blog i reference in this post have similar names , but we are not the same)
Wish me luck
