I was railing thepokergrind's tournament while I played mine and something strange happened. Our chip counts, blind levels, players remaining and position in the tournament were almost identical from 200 players down to the final table. We both finished second in our respective tournaments (OK, his was worth A LOT more). The only difference was the final table. The skill difference in the Fifty-Fifty vs micro stakes tournaments is huge. My final table finished more than twice as fast as his with the nearly the exact same amount of chips in play.
Just for the record, when there were about 100 players left in the field you can just see that thepokergrind was playing well and was gonna go deep (I have watched many of his tourneys and sometimes you can feel when someone is playing well). When they were talking chop at the FT I was against it because I thought he had a good shot at winning. $5900 is not a bad score for a $55 investment. Well done and very well played.
